JD(U) chief skirts question on merger with RLD

Patna,(BiharTimes): Speaking as JD(U) president Nitish Kumar on Monday urged the mediapersons to ask any question about the merger from Rashtriya Lok Dal as the initiative in this direction had come from the latter.

Some journalists present at the Janata Darbar asked this question following reports that chances of merger of JD(U) and RLD of Ajit Singh are almost over.

The BiharTimes had already hinted this possibility almost three weeks ago when Nitish was elected as the President of the JD(U) in New Delhi on April 10. The National Council of the party held in Patna on April 23 ratified his election.

On Monday Nitish reiterated the call for unity among all the non-BJP parties for a “Sangh-mukt” India by 2019. Even during the National Council meeting he had said that this can be possible with or without merger. Parties can come together, combine, form alliance or merger to achieve this purpose, he had then said.
