Patna,(BiharTimes): The state cabinet on Thursday gave its nod to the decision to raise the existing Bihar Contingency Fund amount from Rs 350 crore to Rs 5,787.85 crore till March 31 next year. The decision has been taken in the light of impending drought like situation and earthquake––last time it struck Bihar on April 25, 2015.

Fifty per cent out of the total Rs 5,758.85 crore, would be spent for relief and rehabilitation. This amount is 4% of the total budget allocation of the state.
