Patna,(BiharTimes): The vice-chairman of NITI Ayog Arvind Panagariya on Friday showered praise on the growth of the state’s economy in the last one decade.

Addressing the regional consultation meeting of the Ayog’s task force on poverty alleviation Panagariya said the regional meeting was significant in that the seven participating states not only have the highest number of population in the country, but have also been home to a high proportion of the country’s poor.

Representatives of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh Odisha and West Bengal took part in it.

Among others Panagariya was accompanied by Ashok Kumar Jain, advisor on rural development.
