Gaya, Patna boys secure ninth, 10th position in Civil Services exam

 


Patna,(BiharTimes): By securing ninth position Karan Satyarthi of Chichara village under the Konch block of Gaya district topped the list of successful candidates from Bihar who cracked the UPSC exam 2015. The result was announced by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Tuesday.

He did his engineering graduate from IIT Kharagpur and made it in his second attempt. His father Praful Sharma is a Professor of Civil Engineering at BIT Sindri (Jharkhand).

Patna boy Anupam Shukla, a Physics Honours topper from Hindu College, Delhi University, secured 10th position.

Anupam did his schooling from Kendriya Vidayalay, Bailey Road, in Patna and is at present serving as the Assistant Conservator of Forests in Lucknow after cracking the Indian Forest Service exams in 2013.

Son of Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Development), Bihar, Devendra Kumar Shukla, he also got an opportunity to study in University of Wales for four years.


He got the MSc degree in Forestry and Environment after completing two years of training.


Kumar Ashirwad of Gopalganj district has secured 35th position. He did his Civil Engineering from IIT-Khargapur in 2012 and used to teach at Pace Academy, an IIT coaching institute in Mumbai.


He owes his success to parents and teachers. He did his schooling from Little Flower School in Jamshedpur as his father Arun Kumar Mishra was posted as chief inspector of factories there.
He qualified in his second attempt.


Ashirwad had reached till the interview level in his first attempt last year. He had opted for Anthropology as his optional paper for the Mains exam.


Abhimanyu Gahlaut has secured rank 38th rank. For the past three years, he has been working in Bihar as a country economist with the International Growth Centre (London School of Economics), which is based at Asian Development Research Institute, ADRI.


Ravi Prakash from Patna secured an all India rank of 54. Son of SBI, Hajipur manager Mrinal Sharma, the IIT Kanpur graduate cleared the examination in his third attempt.
Aneesh Dasgutpta, also of Patna, secured 74th position.


Vivek Kumar, son of the JD(U) MLA from Nabinagar in Aurangabad district, Virendra Singh, has secured 80th position. His father once represented JD(U) in Lok Sabha.
He did his Class X from Birla Public School, Pilani, and Class XII from DPS R K Puram. He did his MBBS from Maulana Azad Medical College in New Delhi.
Saurabh, who did Electrical Engineering from IIT Roorkee, secured 142nd rank. He was working at Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL). His optional subject was Sociology. He did his schooling from Holy Mission School Samastipur. His father is a retired government employee.
Reshav Kumar Jha got 162 rank while Govind Kumar 236.
Abhishek Narayan Sinha, who ranked 392, did his schooling from a government school in Khizersarai in Gaya district. After doing his schooling in his village he moved to Patna where he did ISc from B N College. He did his B Tech from IIT-Guwahati.
After that he joined a software company in Bangalore. His optional paper was History.
Kartik Kumar Singh got 441 while Chandan Kumar Pandey 462 and Ankit 492 rank.
Vibhuti Bhushan, who did his engineering from NIT Calicut in Computer Science, has secured 653rd rank. After his engineering in 2012, he joined Oracle but had no wish to pursue his career as a technocrat.
He opted for Public Administration as his optional paper.
Nishant Kumar of Patliputra Colony, Patna, secured 856th rank.
