Forensic Science Laboratory report of Nawada rape case negates any sign of semen on exhibits

Patna,(BiharTimes): Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) of Bihar Police could not find any sign of semen on either of the six exhibits in the Nawada school-girl rape case, which involves suspended RJD MLA, Raj Ballabh Yadav.

The six exhibits are shalwar, kameez and duppatta of the victim, a bedsheet, a pillow cover and a ‘toshak’ of the accused MLA’s room, from his house in the village Pathara where the girl from Nalanda district was allegedly raped on February 6.

A visiting FSL team from the state capital had collected six exhibits.

“No sign of semen was found on any of the six exhibits collected for examination by the FSL team and investigating officer,” the FSL report sent to Nalanda Mahila police station said. It further said instead of semen, the exhibits emitted a strong smell of detergent.

While admitting that the FSL has sent negative report Nalanda SP Kumar Ashish said “the incident of alleged rape occurred on February 6 at the MLA’s house in Nawada district while the survivor reported the matter to Nalanda police, on February 9. The survivor’s allegation was found to be true on February 12. By the time the FSL team collected the exhibits, the accused person might have destroyed the semen by washing them in detergent powder.”

He, however, claimed that the FSL report would not put too much adverse effect on the case as there were several other strong evidences to nail the accused.
