Month-long training in Mussoorie to further deplete strength of IAS officers in Bihar

 

Patna,(BiharTimes): The functioning of several key departments in the state is likely to suffer for over a month as about two dozen IAS officers of the 1991 to 2000 batches of Bihar cadre are likely to be away from the state for their mid-career training at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie, from June 27 to July 22.

The state is already facing shortage of IAS officers and several senior officials are retiring this year. Besides, Sudhir Kumar Rakesh had applied for retirement a year earlier.

The training is mandatory and is usually undertaken by officers between the 17th and 25th years of their service.

Reports said that most of these officers are holding charge of two or even three departments as there is shortage of IAS officers in the state.

Those likely to go for training are Pratyaya Amrit, S Siddharth, C K Anil, S M Raju (all 1991), Deepak K Singh, Chanchal Kumar, Harjot Kaur (all 1992), Atish Chandra (1994), Arvind K Choudhary, N Vijaylaskhmi (1995), Anand Kishor, H R Srinivas, Bipin Kumar, Rahul Singh (all 1996), Prem Singh Meena, Manish K Verma and Jitendra Kumar Srivastava (all 2000).
