Maoists slit throat of three villagers in Jamui

Patna,(BiharTimes): Maoists slit the throat of three persons––said to be police informers––in a Jamui village on intervening night of Saturday and Sunday.

Two of those killed were from Jharkhand while the third was from Bihar. Their bodies were recovered by the police on Sunday.
The victims were killed at Gadi village in the Chakai block of Jamui district. The region is almost on the border with Jharkhand’s Giridih district.

While Mukesh Kumar Rai (25) and Yogendra Turi (35) were brought from Chowki and Garanga––both in Giridih district––Tipan Mandal (30) was picked up from his house in Gadi itself.

The Maoists executed them around mid-night. They left behind posters at the crime scene which stated that the information provided by the victims led to the killing of Chirag, a CPI(Maoist) leader in a police encounter in January last.

The Maoists also claimed two of men killed were special police officers (SPOs).

However, Jharkhand police denied the claim.

The posters further said the killings were a warning for other police informers.

According to the Jamui superintendent of police, Jayant Kant the Central Reserve Police Force and district police had started a combing operation in the area to catch the killers.
