‘Kedia freed after his family paid of Rs 100 million through hawala: Family members

Patna,(BiharTimes): A family member of Suresh Kedia, the Nepali industrialist abducted by criminals from the Himalayan republic, told ‘Aaj Tak’, a private Indian TV channel, that the ransom amount of Rs 100 million (10 crore) was paid through hawala (illegal money transfer through infomal channels).
The television channel said that the amount was sent from Kathmandu to Mumbai in two installments. After receiving the ransom, the kidnappers released Kedia near a village in East Champaran district in Bihar. The report also claimed that the kidnappers themselves informed Bihar Police that Kedia had been freed.
Kedia himself has dismissed Bihar Police’s claim that they rescued him by raiding the kidnappers’ hideout.

Ironically at the Press conference organized by Bihar Police, Kedia revealed that the kidnappers had themselves freed him.

“They blindfolded me and asked me to sit on a bike. Then they left me free in a village,” Kedia said.
But in the same Press conference, SP claimed that the kidnappers ran away after seeing the police.
