Nitish’s Diwali-eve lunch a show of Grand Alliance unity





Patna,(BiharTimes): A week ahead of the first anniversary of the last year November 8 election victory of the Grand Alliance parties Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar threw a lunch on the Saturday (Oct 29) on the eve of Diwali.

Though it was purely a festive occasion the political message was loud and clear. It was to show that there is complete unity among the three parties: the Janata Dal (United), Rashtriya Janata Dal and Indian National Congress.

Lalu Prasad, his wife Rabri Devi, their minister sons Tejaswi Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav, Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee president and education minister Ashok Choudhary, water resources minister Lalan Singh, energy minister Bijendra Yadav, state JD(U) chief Bashishtha Narayan Singh and party’s Rajya Sabha member R C P Singh were those present at 1, Anne Marg on that occasion.

The get-together came a few days after a Delhi newspaper, said to be close to the BJP, carried a news that the JD(U) has opened a channel of negotiation with the saffron party.

However, the story was strongly denied by the JD(U) sources.
