CBI picks up Shahabuddin’s associate for interrogation in Siwan scribe murder case





Patna,(BiharTimes): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) sleuths on Thursday picked up Hamid Raza (50) alias Dabloo Khan alias Mukhiya for interrogation in connection with the murder of the Siwan bureau chief of Hindi daily, Hindustan, Rajdeo Ranjan.

A CBI team headed by a deputy superintendent of police raided the ancestral house of Hamid Raza in Sheikhpura village under Hassanpura police station of Siwan early on Thursday morning. He is said to be an associate of jailed former RJD MP, Mohammad Shahabuddin.

He was taken to an undisclosed location for questioning.

Raza had unsuccessfully contested the Assembly polls from Raghunathpur in Siwan on an RJD ticket in 2010.

He was earlier elected as mukhiya  of Hasanpura. He also holds the post of secretary of Zakaria Educational and Social Welfare Trust in Siwan, run by a non-resident Indian.

Reports said that he was earlier arrested and lodged in Tihar Jail, Delhi, for alleged involvement in unlawful activities in the national capital.

The CBI is also hunting for another long-time accomplice of Shahabuddin.
