Prashant Kishor’s activism in UP raises questions

Patna,(BiharTimes):  With the Congress party’s face in Uttar Pradesh, Sheila Dikshit, expressing surprise over her party’s election strategist, Prashant Kishor, meeting Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav––not once but twice––in his home state Bihar people are flummoxed over his role in the neighbouring state.

Then came the news that Prashant Kishor also met Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Singh Yadav on Monday.

After all Prashant is an advisor of Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar and it remains a mystery as to in which capacity had he met Mulayam Singh Yadav and even his CM son.

A JD(U) leader wishing anonymity said that alliances are discussed by politicians and not by poll strategists. He said Prashant Kishor met Mulayam for the Congress which has engaged him. The meeting might have taken place for some other reasons but definitely not for alliance in the coming UP elections, the JD(U) leader felt.

But if not election why then three such meetings took place with father and son in such a short duration?

This raises another question: why an advisor of Bihar government enjoying a minister status here is working for the Congress party in UP?

Apart from this, in Bihar the opposition BJP leader has repeatedly raised the issue of complete absence of Prashant Kishor from the state. After all how can he work for different parties in UP and even Punjab when he is holding the rank of a minister in Bihar. Former deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi had several times asked as to how can Prashant Kishor work for some other party in other states when he is drawing salary from tax-payers money of Bihar?

Besides, on its own JD(U) is not very keen for a Grand Alliance in UP. If that is so, why is Prashant Kishor so much enthusiastic about it.
