PMCH Junior Doctors go on strike after exchange of blows with principal
Patna,(BiharTimes): The Junior Doctors of Patna Medical College and
Hospital went on a wild-cat strike after a bloody brawl between a
Junior Doctor and principal of the health hub on Wednesdaynoon
Reports said the trouble started when a motor cycle-borne medico Alok
Kumar allegedly tried to cross a barricade put up as part of an order
of the Patna high court.
Principal Dr S N Sinha, who was there, reportedly stopped him.
Talking to the media Dr Sinha said he did not realise that the youth
is a Junior Doctor as he was neither wearing apron nor carrying
identity card. Soon, according to eyewitnesses, the wordy duel turned
ugly.
Dr Sinha said the Junior Doctor assaulted him compelling him to hit back.
Upon this the policemen on duty caught the young medico and beat him
with lathis.
Soon Junior Residents on duty in Emergency Ward came rushing, and
decided to boycott work. The decision to strike work has affected the
functioning in PMCH.
