Two arrested while depositing fake notes worth Rs 2.50 lakh





Patna,(BiharTimes): Tarun Kumar Singh, manager of a private finance company, Sahara India, and his associate Chandrahas Kumar, were arrested on Tuesday when they were simultaneously trying to deposit the fake currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 worth Rs 2.5 lakh in Janipur (Patna) branch of Punjab National Bank and Bank of Baroda.

Phulwarisharif SDPO Rakesh Kumar and Janipur police station SHO Mohan Kumar first arrested Tarun who told them about Chandrahas.

The SDPO said both the arrested persons were depositing the money in their personal bank accounts. Tarun was arrested with fake notes of Rs1.5 lakh face value while Chandrahas was nabbed with fake currency of Rs one lakh.

According to police the two claimed someone handed them over the fake notes. The two arrested persons had no criminal antecedent.

It must be recalled that on November 13, Diplesh Kumar was nabbed while trying to deposit fake notes of Rs 49,000 face value in the North Bihar Grameen Bank branch at Sewaipatti in Muzaffarpur district..
