Speculation rife as Nitish ‘meets’ Amit Shah

Patna,(BiharTimes): Reports appearing in a section of media in Delhi suggest that Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar and Bhartiya Janata Party president Amit Shah met recently in Gurugram.

Surprisingly, the meeting was arranged by none other than election strategist Prashant Kishor who has been close to both the leaders.

None of the three personalities has yet denied the report.

According to a report published in Hindi daily Navbharat Times, the meeting took place on November 1 at a farmhouse in Gurugram, earlier name Gurgaon. The report quotes sources as saying that on the day of the meeting Shah had returned to Delhi after attending an election rally in Punjab while Nitish was there to take part in a meeting of the Law Commission.

Recent developments involving Bihar CM have baffled political observers as one day he meets the BJP chief while on the other forms an anti-BJP front with the RLD and BS-4 in UP.

At the same time he, in a guarded way, supports demonetization while his party, Janata Dal (United) strongly opposes it in Parliament.

The Narendra Modi government on its part included his name in the 149-member panel formed to celebrate Deen Dayal Upadhyaya’s birth centenary. But the panel also includes the name of former president, Sharad Yadav, NCP chief Sharad Pawar and former PM, H D Deve Gowda.

If the news is really true it once again raises the question about the role of Prashant Kishor, who is an advisor to Bihar CM, but is working for the Congress party in UP. Now it seems that he has revived his friendship with Amit Shah.

After all he had worked for the BJP in 2012 Assembly election in Gujarat and 2014 Lok Sabha election.
