SuMo blames Bihar for not making land available for second AIIMS

Patna,(BiharTimes): Senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi has criticized the Nitish Kumar government for failing to make available 200-acre of land for setting up a second All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bihar.

In a Press statement SuMo said Union finance minister Arun Jaitley had announced in his budget speech in 2015-16 that another AIIMS would be set up in Bihar. Since then the Union health minister has written more than half a dozen letters to the state government to make available 200 acres of land properly linked with road, electricity and water. But the state government has not responded to any of these letters.

Not only that the Bihar government is now asking the Union health ministry to select a district for second AIIMS though this is the responsibility of the state government, former deputy CM said.

He alleged that the state government was not letting another super-speciality hospital come up in Bihar as it would give credit to Prime Minister.

Incidentally, the criticism of the state government has come when the first AIIMS in Patna is still not fully functional.
