Gargee Grand’s owner, bodyguard arrested under Arms Act





Patna,(BiharTimes): The owner of a premier hotel, Gargee Grand, R.K. Singh, and his private bodyguard were arrested from Patna on Friday, allegedly on charges of forgery and possessing an illegal arms.

According to senior superintendent of police, Patna, Manu Maharaaj the owner was arrested with his bodyguard Saroj after a complaint was lodged with the Gandhi Maidan police station that the latter was keeping a weapon and wearing a police uniform in violation of prescribed rules.

The police found that Saroj had procured an arms licence from Jammu and Kashmir on forged documents. He had introduced himself as a former soldier in the documents furnished for procuring licence.

Singh, according to the SSP, purchased a six-round revolver from a Saran resident on the basis of the forged arms licence.

The SSP said a team has been sent to Saran to ascertain the fact.  The bodyguard had also been accused of misusing police uniform. A case of forgery and also under Arms Act has been lodged against the hotelier and his bodyguard. Both the accused were later produced in a court that remanded them in judicial custody for 14 days.
