PM launches "The Indian Police at Your Call" App developed by NIC Bihar
Patna,(BiharTimes):"The Indian Police at Your Call" App is a GIS Map based interface for the citizens to locate police stations
near to their current location so that they can easily “reach” the police station in case of emergency. The
App displays the current location of the citizen on the Map along with details such as name of places,
roads and major landmarks.
The App dynamically fetches details of all the police stations near the
location of the citizen and can be refreshed at regular intervals. The Mobile App has been developed by
a National Informatics Centre(NIC) team, Bihar led by Shailesh Kumar Shrivastava, Technical
Director under guidance of Rajesh Kumar Singh, State Informatics Officer.

by Prime Minister Narendra Modi Saturday in presence of . Rajnath Singh, Union Home Minister,
Union State Ministers(Home), National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval, Union Home Secretary and
Director Intelligence Bureau on 25.11.2016 at Sardar Vallabhbhai National Police Academy (SVPNPA),
Hyderabad. helps the citizen locate the nearest police stations wherever he or she is.
Not just that,
the Indian Police app provides the names of the police stations, the telephone numbers, the distance
from the place where you are and how much time it will take to reach whichever police station one
wants to go to. The app also prompts one to call any of the numbers listed with the 'Tap to call' facility.
The features of the app, as could be seen, after it is downloaded, are citizen-friendly. Getting through to
the police should no longer be difficult. The app provides the police station number, the control room
number and also the SP office number. However, no mobile phones numbers are provided.
