Bihar BJP chief Mangal Pandey axed days after JD(U) accused saffron
party of pre-demonetization land deal
Patna,(BiharTimes): The Bharatiya Janata Party has sacked its Bihar
unit chief, Mangal Pandey, justs days after the Janata Dal (United)
produced documents of pre-demonetization land deal in the state.
Nityanand Rai is now the new state party chief.
The documents of purchase of land by the BJP leaders in several places
of Bihar in September last were released to the media by JD(U)
spokespersons on Saturday last. This landed the BJP in trouble.
Rai, an MP from Ujjiarpur, is like his predecessor a lightgweight in
comparison to other party leaders.
However, he is a Yadav from Vaishali district from where two sons of
Lalu got elected last year.
The BJP has also made another Bihari, Manoj Tiwari, as the president
of its Delhi unit replacing Satish Upadhyaya.
Political observers are of the view that Mangal Pandey’s departure was
very much due, but as this development has taken place only four days
after the land deal was exposed the state BJP is feeling somewhat
embarrassed.
