Phone booths to be set up in all 57 jails of Bihar
Patna,(BiharTimes): Telephone booths are being set up in all the 57 jails of Bihar so that inmates can talk to their families. Besides, in a bid to strengthen security in jails CCTV cameras and dragon lights are being installed.
Prisoners would now be served food in steel utensils and jail authorities have been asked to procure induction plates without delay. While presiding over a meeting of state-level jail officials Inspector General of Prisons Anand Kishore, gave direction to make arrangement for serving food to prisoners in steel utensils within two months.
He also gave direction to jail superintendents to purchase x-ray machines and other necessary medical equipment as per rules and instructed fitting of LED bulbs and solar lights in jails. He also directed officials to organise prison duty meet between November 15 and December 31 for developing sporting talent among prisoners and officials posted in jails.
