I have a deep friendship with Nitish, we talk to each other on a daily basis: Lalu

Patna,(BiharTimes): “The Opposition has become restless, I have a deep friendship with Nitish, we talk to each other on a daily basis. Last night also I called Nitish to wish him a happy Durga Puja. I am again telling you that there is closeness between me and Nitish.” This is how RJD chief Lalu Prasad rubbished the rumours that differences have cropped up within the two major partners of Grand Alliance.

Talking to a section of media on Monday with old political friend, Shivanand Tiwari––who had drifted towards Janata Dal (United) a decade back–– sitting beside in the 10 Circular Road bungalow he said there is no animosity whatsoever with chief minister Nitish Kumar on any issue.

Lalu’s statement came only days after the media was full of stories that there is growing rift between the two parties after the state government’s decision to move the Supreme Court against former party MP, Mohammad Shahabuddin and Nawada MLA Raj Ballabh Prasad Yadav in murder and rape cases respectively.

“The relation between Nitish and Lalu is intact, it is the BJP who wants to create tremors in our relationshop which will never happen,” The Telegraph quoted Lalu as saying.

“The Grand Alliance government will keep on functioning smoothly. On the occasion of Navratra, I urge the people of Bihar to celebrate the occasion with holiness and brotherhood,” he went on to say.
