Pass system to be introduced in Patna zoo from Oct 15






Patna,(BiharTimes): The environment and forests department of the state on Thursday announced the introduction of pass system at Sanjay Gandhi Biological Park or Patna Zoo from October 15. According to principal chief conservator of forests D K Shukla morning walks are not allowed in zoos as per the norms of Central Zoo Authority. The CZA had recently asked Bihar government to stop jogging inside Patna zoo; otherwise its recognition could be withdrawn.


The zoo would now open at 5 AM and close at 6 PM. As reported earlier too morning walkers and joggers would need a pass to enter the zoo.


Though the zoo would open at 5 AM the zoological area would open at 8 AM. Patna zoo director Nand Kishore said the monthly passes would be issued at the rate of Rs 250 per person. Besides, a pass of Rs 700 would be issued for three months, Rs 1,200 for six months and Rs 2,000 for one year.


However, senior citizens (60 years and above) would be given a discount of 50%. The Patna zoo recently launched website:  www.zoopatna.com. It has a section for getting online ticket and pass issuance system.
