Patna,(BiharTimes): A day after the arrest of his grandson on the charge of carrying liquor former Bihar chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi sees a high-level conspiracy in the police action.
Vicky Manjhi was arrested on Friday following several bottles of liquor being recovered from his vehicle while he was returning to his house in Gaya from Chatra in Jharkhand. He was intercepted by the Gaya police and arrested along with his friend who was also travelling in the vehicle.
However, his grandfather alleged that the arrest was a well planned conspiracy by the police as on Friday morning he had flayed the Gaya administration for not taking any action against the sand mafia operating in the district.
According to him within two hours his grandson was arrested on charges of possessing liquor.
Accusing police of being vindictive he alleged that the Gaya district administration is hands-in-gloves with the sand mafia and the arrest of his grandson was an effort to distract the attention from the real issue raised by him.
