Nitish in Marandi’s Dumka show, projects him as CM of JVM-JD(U) alliance

Patna,(BiharTimes): Bihar chief minister-cun JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar on Wednesday attended a show organised by Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM)chief Babulal Marandi at Dumka to protest against the failure of Raghubar Das government on all fronts.

Addressing members of both the parties on the concluding day of the two-day sit-in (dharna)-cum-public meeting organized by JVM(P) at Gandhi Maidan Nitish said he had personal experience of Marandiji’s vision and commitment to the development of Jharkhand.

Nitish, a former railway minister, said Marandi was the first ever chief minister to propose state allocation of 75% funds for completing rail projects that were pending owing to fund crunch.

What may not be a good news for Biharis living there Nitish supported Marandi’s campaign for 100% reservation for tribals of Jharkhand in government services.

The Bihar CM said his party supported the proposal for the separate Jharkhand state. The JD(U) president, however, expressed disappointment over the way Jharkhand was being governed, leading to a state of anarchy. It is unfortunate that the tribals and other aboriginal people are facing bullets for expressing their anti-government views.

The Bihar CM said the BJP was dancing to the tune of a few corporate houses. He condemned the steps for amendment of the CNT and SPT Acts. "There must not be any amendments to the CNT and SPT Acts. They are necessary to safeguard tribal interests and their existence.

In return Marandi and his party leaders projected Nitish as a prime ministerial candidate. Marandi said Nitish Kumar is the most suitable candidate to become the Prime Minister of the country. He has vision and experience that he has demonstrated by transforming Bihar.

Incidentally, Marandi was the lone non-JD(U) leader who was present at the party’s national council's plenary session at Rajgir on October 16-17. There too he urged Nitish Kumar to play a more crucial role at the national level.
