Togadia showers praise on Nitish’s prohibition policy

Patna,(BiharTimes): Chief minister Nitish Kumar got support from unexpected quarter on the issue of prohibition.

The working president of VHP International, Praveen Togadia, on Sunday was all praise for his decision to enforce total prohibition in the state.

Advocating a country-wide ban on liquor he said he salutes Nitish for enforcing total prohibition.

Otherwise a bitter critic of Nitish Kumar and also of RJD chief Lalu Prasad the Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader said the move would help ease problems in the lives of the people. Now crores of rupees spent on consumption of liquor would be properly used for the betterment of families and on education and health.

He also appealed to other state governments to impose total ban on liquor and added the Vishwa Hindu Parishad under its initiative “India Health Line” had launched a nation-wide de-addiction campaign by its team of doctors.

Claiming that the de-addiction campaign had received good response from the people in several states, Togadia expressed confidence that the country would be made liquor-free one day.

Togadia’s public appreciation of Nitish Kumar’s prohibition policy came just a few days after a senior Gujarat minister praised the Bihar government’s excise policy.

Ironically, the Bihar unit of the BJP has non-stop been criticizing chief minister Nitish Kumar on this very count.
