Shahabuddin gets bail, may be released soon

Patna,(BiharTimes): Patna High Court on Wednesday granted bail to former Siwan MP and RJD strongman Mohammad Shahabuddin in a case related to the killing of a murder witness.

The bail has paved the way for the release of Shahabuddin, presently lodged in Bhagalpur jail.

He has been in jail for the last 14 years.

The RJD strongman was an accused in the killing of Rajiv Roshan on June 16, 2014, three days before he was to appear as witness in the double murder case. He was a witness in the killing of his two younger brothers, Satish Raj (25) and Girish Raj (20), sons of a businessman.

They were abducted and killed on August 16, 2004. They were drenched in acid before being killed.

Patna High Court had in March already granted bail to Shahabuddin in the case of killing of the two brothers.
