Hiring of junior lawyers helped Shahabuddin get bail: BJP leader
Patna,(BiharTimes): Commenting on Patna high court granting bail to jailed RJD MP Mohammad Shahabuddin BJP leader and former deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi said on Thursday that the state government is in a systematic manner paving the way for release of Siwan strongman.
He asked at to why the matter was entrusted to junior legal officer and not Advocate General or Additional Advocate General? This is very much unlike cases related to prohibition in which the state government hired senior lawyers of Supreme Court.
It is only on Wednesday that the high court granted bail to Shahbuddin in a case of murderof a witness in the killing of two brothers in Siwan.
In a statement SuMo said when the court had in February 2016 ordered to complete trial in the murder case of Rajiv Roshan, the state government did not allow trial to take place so as to pave the way for him to get bail.
The BJP leader asked would Shahabuddin share dias with chief minister Nitish Kumar and RJD president Lalu Prasad?
SuMo sought to know if the state government planned to impose Crime Control Act (CCA) on Shahabuddin as it did recently on expelled JD(U) MLA Anant Singh.
