Nitish is CM of circumstances, Lalu is my leader: Shahabuddin after his release

Patna,(BiharTimes): Released former Rashtriya Janata Dal MP from Siwan, Mohammad Shahabuddin, said on Saturday that Nitish Kumar is the chief minister of circumstances.

Talking to the media after his release from Bhagalpur Central Jail––after being in prison for 11 long years––he said: “My leader was Lalu Prasad,  my leader is Lalu Prasad and my leader would be Lalu Prasad.

In a reply to a question he said that the BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi is not taken seriously in political circle. “I do not take him seriously,” he further explained.

A large number of supporters in hundreds of cars gathered outside the jail to greet him. This included about half a dozen ministers of the Nitish cabinet, many RJD  legislators and supporters.

He came out of jail at about 6:45 in the morning and his carcade immediately left for Siwan. A large number of RJD supporters greeted him on the way. The car was first stopped at Khagaria, where the crowd shouted slogans in his favour.

One RJD MLA from Siwan district, Hari Narayan Yadav, went to the extent of calling him “Bhagwan”. “Bihar ke log Bhagwan mante hain,” (People of Bihar feel that he is a god), the Raghunathpur MLA said.

Shahabuddin denied the charge often levelled by the BJP that he is a symbol of terror.

He said that going to jail and getting bail is a part of judicial process.
