Patna,(BiharTimes): A large part of Patna was on Monday flooded as heavy overnight rain threw normal life out of gear in Patna.

Rain water entered Patna Dairy Project in Haroon Nagar Phase-I near Phulwarisharif  forcing it to close its service. As water level reached the height of transformer inside the premises the authorities had to stop work disrupting supply of milk to Patna and other places on Monday, that is, on the eve of Eid-ul-Adha.

Water entered a large number of houses in various low-lying colonies including Patliputra Colony, Kankarbagh, Rajendra Nagar, Digha, Rajeev Nagar etc.

Schools like St Michael, DonBosco, St Joseph etc have been closed and examination postponed till Thursday.

Water entered the official residence of the leader of opposition, Prem Kumar. He later blamed the state government and Patna Municipal Corporation for the sorry plight of the people. He accused the PMC of not getting the drains cleared before monsoon.

The entire Gandhi Maidan make a Dal Lake like scene a day before Eid on Tuessday. Thousands of Muslims offer prayer on this day. The Eid management committee is making alternative arrangement in vaious mosques.

Patna has so far witnessed scanty rainfall, though last month a large part of the state capital got flooded because of the release of water by Bansagar Dam in Madhya Pradesh and heavy rain in UP and Jharkhand.
