Nitish enacting ‘nautanki’, says Sushil Modi

Patna,(BiharTimes): Senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi has accused chief minister Nitish Kumar of enacting ‘nautanki’ (drama) in the name of challenging the bail of RJD strongman, Mohammad Shahabuddin, in Supreme Court.

In a statement he charged the state government with adopting dilly-dallying attitude just to fool the people.

Sushil Modi reiterated that Shahabuddin got bail because the state government did not field a senior lawyer to oppose his bail plea.

According to SuMo state law minister Krishnandan Varma was heard saying he was not competent to speak whether the state government would file an appeal against Shahabuddin in Supreme Court.

Sushil Modi, sought to know from the state government as to why it did not challenge in a higher court the bails Shahabuddin secured in lower courts in different pending cases against him. He also dared the state government to make public the status of trial in different cases related to the RJD strongman.

Incidentally, Sushil Modi did not explain as to how Shahabuddin got bails when he too was the deputy chief minister of Bihar.
