SC now  to hear plea against Shahabuddin on September 28

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Supreme Court on Monday put off the hearing on petitions challenging the bail given by Patna high court to former Siwan MP Mohammad Shahabuddin on September 28 after his lawyer Ram Jethmalani sought more time to defend him.

Prashant Bhushan, the lawyer of the victims, informed the Court that 45 cases are pending against Shahabuddin. Nine of them are murder cases.

He argued that in at least 10 cases, the former RJD MP had been convicted by the lower courts.

However, Shahabuddin’s lawyer asked for more time to respond in the matter.
