Vijay Prakash threatens to sue SuMo after latter’s extortion allegation

Patna,(BiharTimes): Labour minister Vijay Prakash said that he was going to file a defamation case against senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi for what he said levelling baseless charges against him.

SuMo had on Wednesday alleged that the minister had demanded extortion money from Rs 600-crore diamond cutting unit Shrenuj & Co which is situated in Pataliputra Industrial Area of the state capital.

The minister dold mediapersons that Sushil Modi had made a false allegation against him and added that he had never demanded any money.

“It is true that I had visited the unit but not to demand money but to listen to the grievances of the Bihari labourers who were not getting their due wages. The factory closed because its financial condition was not good,” he said.

However, a company official had said that the minister did demand money but hastened to add that the unit was not getting enough orders for diamonds.

It needs to be recalled that diamond industry is facing problem even in Surat, especially after demonetization.

It remains a mystery as to why the BJP leader raised the issue now when, according to his own version, the diamond unit got closed in October and the minister visited it in September last year.
