Police official seeks withdrawal from SIT probing BSSC exam

Patna,(BiharTimes): Additional superintendent of police (Operations), Patna, Rakesh Kumar Dubey, on Monday wrote a letter to inspector-general (Patna zone) Nayyar Hasnain Khan, requesting him to relieve him from the special investigating team (SIT) probing the Bihar Staff Selection Commission question paper leak scam.

Though he cited personal reasons for his decision to stay away from the investigation media reports quoting a senior police officer said that Dubey was under intense pressure from some senior bureaucrats and politicians.

As reported earlier the case diary of the case submitted in the court mentions names of over two dozen politicians, including ministers and serving bureaucrats, who had purportedly approached the then chairman of BSSC Sudhir Kumar and its secretary Parmeshwar Ram to get their candidates selected in the recruitment of the auxiliary nurse and midwives.

A few weeks back some regional TV channels had reported that the SIT chief and Patna SSP Manu Maharaj wants to quit the probe tean and was seeking iner-state transfer.

However, he later denied the reports.
