Turmoil in Bihar BJP as anti-Rai faction threatens to gheroe Amit Shah

Patna,(BiharTimes): After former general secretary, Sudhir Sharma, it is the turn of the former minister Sunil Kumar Pintu to attack the new state BJP president Nityanand Rai.

With this latest development the Bihar unit of the BJP has virtually got divided into two factions––one led by Nityanand Rai and another (from behind) by former deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi.

The anti-Rai faction on Friday raised slogans in the party office and threatened to gheroe the national president of the BJP, Amit Shah, when he comes to Patna on April 19.

Pintu strongly criticized the suspension from the party of former state vice president Lal Babu Prasad.

Pintu asked as to how can Lal Babu be suspended by Rai when no written complaint had been filed against him.

It needs to be recalled that Lal Babu, an MLC,  was slapped inside the Assembly premises by another BJP MLA Niraj Kumar Singh Bablu after he allegedly indulged in sexual misbehaviour with the latter’s wife, Nutan Singh, also a member of the Upper House. This incident took place in full public view and was reported by the media. Thus Rai dropped Lal Babu from the state executive of the party.

But Pintu and other leaders of anti-Rai faction look at this action in a different way and dubbed it as arbitrary.

Meanwhile, Nityanand Rai said that the action was taken after the collective decision of the party.
