SuMo threatens to come out in black and white on Lalu family’s land deals

Patna,(BiharTimes): Senior BJP leader and former deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi on Tuesday threatened to expose Rashtriya Janata Dal president Lalu Prasad and his family’s alleged illegal landacquisition through murky deals involving front companies in many locations in Patna.

Talking to mediapersons on the sidelines of his weekly Janata Darbar SuMo said he would approach the agencies like CBI, ED and Income Taxdepartment.

"There is a typical modus operandi to turn black money into white. Be it Delight Marketing Company Pvt Ltd,AK Infosystems Pvt Ltd and some other companies that are formed by businessmen for some favours. They buy posh pricey properties and later transfer the ownership of shell company and its assets to Lalu and family," Modi told media persons

According to SuMo AK Infosystems Pvt Ltd, owned by Om Prakash Katyal’sfamily, had purchased land at Panapur and Chittkohra in Patna in March 2007. This was when Lalu was thje Railway Minister. In 2014, the Katyal family transferred entire shares of the company to former chief minister Rabri Devi and her son Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, thereby also giving them ownership of the land. This was the time when
the political fortune of the family was at its lowest point.

Sushil Modi further said the same company had purchased a double storied building along with land at Salempur Dumra, Patna, at a cost of Rs 70 lakh.

Actually this property had been gifted to Tejashwi Prasad Yadav and his brother Tej Pratap Yadav by their maternal uncle Prabhunath Yadav in March 2006. The cost of the gifted assets then was Rs 14 lakh. After almost four years, this property was purchased by A.K Infosystems    by paying a price five times higher at Rs. 70 lakhs to both brothers. The    payment to both brothers was made through cheque. In this way, Tejaswi and Tej Pratap received Rs 70 lakhs for the gifted land, he said.
