Raghunath Jha ‘gifted’ land to Lalu’s sons, alleges Sushil Modi

Patna,(BiharTimes): On the day RJD launched yet another attack on him with documentary proof, senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi alleged that former RJD MP Raghunath Jha had ‘gifted’ six cottahs of land in Gopalganj to RJD chief Lalu Prasad’s sons Tej Pratap Yadav and Tejashwi Prasad Yadav to become minister in the Manmohan Singh cabinet.

Showing a deed to mediapersons dated June 18, 2005 he procured on April 24 this year, SuMo said according to the deed, the donor gifted the land out of “love and affection” for the beneficiaries who had “served” the donor faithfully.

The former deputy CM said that when Raghunath Jha was a JD(U) MP between 1999 and 2004, he never gifted anything to the party nor to any person but when he joined RJD and got a ticket in 2004, he gifted the land within one year.

According to the senior BJP leader, Raghunath Jha was later elevated to the post of Union minister in the UPA regime.

Sushil Modi said that he had  been saying since the beginning that Lalu takes land in lieu of tickets or ministerial berths. This is a fine example.

Why would anyone gift such an expensive land? Besides, at that time Tejashwi and Tej Pratap must have been around 15 and 16 years old. How come they had served Raghunath Jha so sincerely?

SuMo claimed that the present cost of the land along with the three storey building on it around Rs 15 crore.

He also alleged that Lalu has 40 such properties.
