Lalu releases photos of Nitish, SuMo, Giriraj with alleged scamster
Patna,(BiharTimes): Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad on Saturday released photographs of NGO Srijan’s founder (now Late) Manorama Devi with chief minister Nitish Kumar, his deputy Sushil Kumar Modi, Union minister of state Giriraj Singh, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari and the then Bhagalpur MP Shahnawaz Hussain in a variety of frames.
Accusing BJP and JD(U) bigwigs of giving patronage to those involved in fraudulent transfer of hundreds of crore from government accounts to the bank account of Srijan, the RJD chief asked Nitish to recommend a CBI probe into the scam as the state police was not competent to investigate politicians and bureaucrats. He questioned the manner in which EOU conducted the preliminary inquiry into the matter just in two days.
Lalu alleged the government funds thus misappropriated were diverted to a real estate firm, which has Delhi MP Manoj Tiwari as its brand ambassador. Many state officials took loans from Srijan in the name of their wives.
Lalu also sought a special audit of the Srijan’s financial transactions by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India.
Calling for the arrest of Sushil Modi the RJD supremo said a fair probe and audit are possible only when he is removed from the post of finance minister.
He held Sushil Kumar Modi directly responsible for the scam.
