Bihar Police  seek lookout notices against scam accused

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Bihar Police on Thursday urged the Centre to issue lookout notices against the absconding main accused in Srijan Scam.

Prominent among them are Amit Kumar and his wife Priya Kumar, director and secretary respectively, of the Sabour-based NGO Srijan. They are son and daughter-in-law of late Manorama Devi, the founder-secretary of the NGO.

According to a police officer once the notices are issued, they would be displayed at airports across the country so that the accused cannot escape from the country.

A team of Bihar Police left for Ranchi on Wednesday in search of the husband-wife duo as they have relatives in the Jharkhand capital.

Bhagalpur senior superintendent of police (SSP) Manoj Kumar, who was part of the SIT, had also requested the Patna regional passport office to cancel the passports of the couple.

Reports said that Amit’s elder brother is a doctor  in Australia.

The SIT had also detected a suspicious deposit of over Rs 1.50 crore in the Bandhan Bank account of Indu Gupta, the absconding wife of district welfare officer Arun Kumar, who has been arrested.
