NAPM decries poor relief, rescue works in flood hit districts

Patna,(BiharTimes): The National Alliance of People’s Movement and Jan Jagaran Shakti Sanghathan (JJSS) have decried the complete failure of the state government in carrying out relief and rescue works in the flood-ravaged district of Bihar.

In a joint Press statement issued on Sunday they said that even eight days after the flood water entered Araria and other parts people are not getting even the basic relief from the state government machinery.

Fresh rain has only aggravated the miseries as thousands of people had to spend their days and nights under the open sky.

They alleged that community kitchens are being closed even when people are facing acute shortage of food.

.In Araria town boards of Relief Camps have been put up at Araria College and Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School but no one is taking shelter there as no arrangement has been made in this regard. Only food packets are being made.

No basic arrangements has been made in the places where the people have taken shelter.

Meanwhile, various other organizations like Jamiat-ul-Ulema Hind and Bihar Youth Organization have undertaken relief and rescue works in several flood-hit districts in Kosi blet and Champaran.
