Mahesh’s family members allege conspiracy in his death
Patna,(BiharTimes): Family members of Mahesh Mandal, an accused in the infamous Srijan Scam, has accused the SIT and local police of killing him to pre-empt any further disclosure involving big names allegedly involved in the scam.
Mahesh, who was suffering from kidney related disease and was undergoing treatment, died in the wee hours of Monday at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital, Bhagalpur. He had earlier gone to Mumbai for treatment. He was picked up by police on August 11.
His brother, Dinesh Mandal alleged that there was a deliberate withdrawal of his support system by the government agencies leading to his death. This was part of a conspiracy so that he remained silent and did not disclose the truth and reality of the nexus of politicians and bureaucrats in the scam.
Mahesh’s son Shiv Mandal, the expelled president of the Bhagalpur unit of Yuva JD(U), said the family members always apprehended that this would happen.
Meanwhile, leader of Opposition in the Assembly Tejashwi Yadav alleged that the government was trying to wipe out evidence. Mahesh was killed by people in the government to bury the truth behind the scam.
It needs to be recalled that RJD chief Lalu Prasad had already released photos of founder-secretary of Srijan, late Manorama Devi, with chief minister Nitish Kumar, and other senior BJP and JD(U) leaders. This landed the NDA leaders in trouble.
Investigators agree that had Mahesh been alive he would have disclosed some more names.
