Cabinet sanctions Rs 1,935 crore for flood relief





Patna,(BiharTimes): For relief and rehabilitation work in the flood-hit 18 districts the Nitish cabinet on Tuesday sanctioned Rs 1,935 crore under Bihar Contingency Fund.

According to cabinet secretariat department principal secretary Brijesh Mehrotra Rs 900 crore of the fund would be spent on payment of relief amount to the flood-affected families and differently-abled persons, Rs 947 crore for supply of food material, Rs eight crore for ex-gratia payment to the next of kin of the deceased, Rs 50 crore for rehabilitation, Rs 10 crore for repair of houses damaged in the floods and Rs 20 crore for agriculture input loans.
