RJD MLAs protest new sand sale policy

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Question Hour in the Bihar Assembly on the concluding day (Friday)

of the Winter Session was stalled by RJD MLAs who protested against the introduction of new system of sand sale under which the Bihar Mineral Development Corporation would supply sand to the customers directly or through its appointed dealers in the district.

As reported the system, which came into effect from December 1, allows online purchase of sand by placing orders on the website of the mines and geology department.

The RJD legislators  insisted that the Speaker Vijay Kumar Choudhary to  accept the adjournment motion moved by them.

Leader of opposition Tejashwi Yadav said thousands and lakhs of labourers are hit by the unavailability of sand and stone chips. This government has stolen their livelihood.

The Speaker refused to oblige. RJD MLAs jumped into the well resulting in the adjournment of the House till 12noon.

When the House was reconvened, the same scene was repeated - RJD MLAs raised slogans against the government.

Parliamentary affairs minister Shravan Kumar said that the government is ready to answer any question inside the Assembly provided they are asked in the format. The government has already replied on the sand crisis and the paddy scam. But the Opposition just wants to create ruckus and stall House proceedings.
