Patna,(BiharTimes): The state government has denied reports appearing in a section of media that Bihar is facing shortage of sand.
The mines and geology department on Tuesday claimed it has buffer stock of sand at its central warehouse in Nisarpura and the government is capable of meeting the demand.
The government issued a Press release denying any scarcity after a Hindi daily reported about long queues of trucks at Nisarpura for taking sand.
The government Press release said the queues were of trucks meant for dumping sand at the warehouse.
Government claim notwithstanding builders, traders and labourers complain that the mandatory Aadhaar and PAN detail requirement to buy sand, are creating problems.
The Patna high court has two days back stayed the new government sand sale policy which came into effect on Dec 1 last.
