11 policemen suspended on charge of dereliction of duty
Patna,(BiharTimes): Five policemen posted at Sarairanjan police station of Samastipur distict were put under suspension and departmental proceeding initiated against them for negligence during the emcounter with liquor mafia at Indvara village of the district.
The incident took place on November 26 night leading to the death of a BMP havildar and injuy to the SHO.
According to Samastipur superintendent of police (SP) Deepak Ranjan the district police conducted an inquiry into the incident before action was taken. Those put under suspension were identified as P K Arya, Prem Kumar, both posted with the district intelligence unit and Srinivas Raut, Rampukar Mandal and Sujeet Kumar of Bihar Military Police.
Meanwhile, Khagarua SP on Tuesday suspends six policemen on charge of dereliction of duty.
