New districts in Bihar likely soon: CM

Patna,(BiharTimes): Bihar may soon have some more districts. This announcement was made by chief minister Nitish Kumar at Bagaha in West Champaran on Tuesday on the first dayof his Samiksha Yatra.

Without spelling out any timeframe he said that some new districts would be created and Bagaha, at present a sub-division of West Champaran, would be one of them.

Bagaha is located 60km from the district headquarters town Bettiah, and 270km from Patna.

At present it is a police district because it is located near the forests on the India-Nepal border. The demand for making it a full-fledged district has been a long-pending one.

Bihar has at present 38 revenue districts and two police districts––Bagaha and Naugachhia, the trans-Ganga  part of Bhagalpur district.
