Manjhi regrets on not being invited to campaign in UP

Patna,(BiharTimes): Regretting that his service is not being sought by the BJP for campaign in Uttar Pradesh former Bihar chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi said on Friday that the Janata Dal  (United) president Nitish Kumar is indirectly helping the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) by staying away from the UP polls.

Manjhi, who heads the Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM), an ally of the BJP  said Bihar chief minister was constantly trying to join the NDA. And, if he does that he would welcome the move.

He said the gap between Nitish and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has narrowed down in recent months as the fomer had supported demonetization and surgical strike.

Meanwhile, BJP MLC Sachchidanand Rai, tried to play down Manjhi’s statement that he had not been invited to campaign in UP by stating that even many Bihar BJP leaders had not been asked to campaign. The saffron party leadership takes decision on the demand from the local state units, he added.

Manjhi had earlier said that he might be able to mobilize a large section of votes in UP in favour of the BJP if allowed to campaign.

HAM, it needs to be recalled, could win only one seat in Bihar in 2015 Assembly election and that is only of Manjhi himself.
