Crackdown on all policemen of Beur PS for shielding bootleggers





Patna,(BiharTimes): In the first step of its kind in the state capital since imposition of prohibition the Senior Superintendent of Police, Manu Maharaj, on Friday shunted to the Police Lines all the 30 police personnel, including Station House Officer of Beur police station, Dhirendra Pandey, for shielding bootleggers of the area and for their failure to enforce prohibition.

Inspector Rakesh Kumar Yadav has been made the SHO of Beur police station.

The SSP acted on the recommendation of DIG (Central Range) Shalin.

The DIG had received complaints that bootleggers in Beur area, had been conniving with the local liquor mafia and smugglers.

This is the second incident in the state after Gopalganj that action has been taken against all the policemen posted at Town Police station.
