Slackness caused boat tragedy: Report





Patna,(BiharTimes): The team probing the Sabbalpur diara boat tragedy on January 14 has pointed out slackness on the part of senior officials in Patna and Saran districts administration as well as Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC).

In all 24 people, including women and children, lost their lives when two countrymade boats capsized while they were returning to Patna after Mkar Sankranti day kite festival organized by the BSTDC.

Principal secretary (disaster management) Pratyaya Amrit and DIG (central range) Shalin, who form two-member team, submitted its report to principal secretary (home) Amir Subhani on Friday.

Subhani said the report is being studied. The state government would take further action based on thorough scrutiny of the report.
