Toppers’ Scam accused Bachha Rai gets conditional bail
Patna,(BiharTimes): The Patna High Court on Tuesday granted a conditional bail to Bachha Rai, one of the main accused in the Toppers’ Scam case.
Rai will get bail if he is not convicted by lower court within one month.
As reported he had surrendered before the police last year a few days after the scam was unearthed.
Bachha Rai is the Secretary-cum Principal of Vishun Rai College in Vaishali district of Bihar from where Arts and Science toppers Ruby Rai and Saurabh Shrestha respectively belonged. He had been involved in the exam racket for the last many years. This college had produced several such ‘toppers’ many times in the past too.
Bachcha Rai’s daughter Shalini was the state topper in the science stream in 2015.
A chargesheet was filed against former Chairman of Bihar School Examination Board, Lalkeshwar Prasad Singh, his wife, Usha Sinha, Bachcha Rai, and former board secretary Harharnath Jha.
