Rajdhani, two other trains escape derailment, sabotage ruled out

Patna,(BiharTimes): For the passengers of three trains, including the Delhi-Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express, it was a lucky escape as they crossed a track that had developed cracks near Harpur Bochaha halt on the Hajipur-Samastipur section of East Central Railway early on Wednesday. The spot is some 90 km from Patna.

According to reports the Bachhawara government railway police (GRP) came to know about the damaged track from some residents in the early hours of Wednesday.

The GRP alerted railway officials, who rushed to the spot and repaired the damaged track.

Reports said that the residents got suspicious after they heard a loud thud when the Rajdhani Express crossed the Harpur Bochaha halt. A similar sound was heard when two trains had crossed the track before the Rajdhani Express.

Eastern Central Railway’s chief public relations officer A K Rajak ruled out sabotage. Since the track-laying work is under progress, the trains cross the track at low speed. This is being done as a precautionary measure.
