RJD, JD(U) to contest two Council seats each: Lalu

Patna,(BiharTimes): Ruling out any differences in the Grand Alliance Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad said that his party and Janata Dal (United) have distributed the four Council seats on the basis of 50:50 and that if there would be vacancy in near future, the seat would be given to the Congress.

The election is scheduled on March 9.

Talking to the media on Friday he said had there been fifth seat, it would have gone to the Congress.

Lalu was trying to calm down a section of Congressmen, who are feeling upset over the neglect of the party in distribution of seats.

For example, former speaker Sadanand Singh said that Congress has rightful claim over Gaya Graduates seat where its candidate Ajay Singh had come second last time and it should get it. But the seat has gone to RJD’s Puneet Singh. He is taking on Council chairman, Awadesh Narayan Singh, of the BJP.

JD (U) state spokesman Neeraj Kumar, MLC, said the two seats the party was contesting are its sitting seats.
